Be curious about what you see in the world around you! Come! Connect with nature in your own unique way! This is NOT an event to come learn to draw like me or Picasso or Rembrandt. This event is for everyone!  Put down the phone! Relax and genuinely connect with the world around you (trees, flowers, bugs, chairs, tables, animals, other people) in our own unique way! While, many say they can’t draw - the truth is: Everyone that holds a pencil in their hand and sees the world before them - can draw! It is time for us to WAKE UP! Perfection is NOT our goal.

Remember, humans have been drawing for over 30,000 years while words are only 5,000 years old! Yes! Drawing is more ancient than writing! Typically we use words to name, label and judge the world around us as separate, different from us. But the truth is that we are connected with the world around us. (For example, trees breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen, while we breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide.) Drawing helps us let go of our separate ego-self-identity and open up to our INNATE True Self-Identity - which is ONE with the world around us!

Today with technology, WORDS are clogging our brain and distracting our attention. It is time now for us to put down our iPhone and computer and to connect with the world around us - with nature, trees, clouds, other people, birds, bugs, bees - and with all of God’s creation. Drawing connects us with the world before us. Come! Let’s draw together! “Drawing nature can help us to realign ourselves with the wholeness of life.”

All people (all ages, all drawing skill levels) are welcome! Bring your pencils, pens, crayons and your sketchbooks or pads of paper. Come! Relax at a place where ART and COMMUNITY come together! Every event is FREE! 

WHO IS HEATHER?

Heather Williams wants to share with others the benefits of drawing. She is the author of the book: Drawing as a Sacred Activity. And she is a retired Art and Special Ed Teacher.
